Frequently asked questions

The questions that arrive every day

Short, true answers — including when the answer is no. If your question is not here, the assistant answers, and what it cannot source it takes to an adviser instead of guessing.

How much does it cost to open a company in Dubai?

There is no single number, and be wary of anyone who gives you one. The cost has two parts we never mix: the official fees, which we pass through at the exact amount with the receipt in your name, and our fee, stated separately. The total depends on the activity, the structure and the number of visas. Our calculator shows the breakdown line by line.

Do I need to live in Dubai to open a company there?

Not to open it. To obtain residence and an Emirates ID, yes — you must be present for the medical test and the biometrics, which usually takes a few days. Much of the process is done remotely.

Is there an apostille for documents going to the UAE?

No. The United Arab Emirates are not party to the Hague Apostille Convention. Every foreign document goes through the full consular legalisation chain: notary, national authentication, UAE consulate and attestation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here. Anyone who offers you “apostille for Dubai” either does not know the rule or is not telling you the truth.

Can I legalise my documents after I arrive in Dubai?

No. The steps in your home country — notary, authentication and the UAE consulate — must be completed before you fly. It is the rule that most often derails people who travel unprepared.

Is Dubai tax free?

No, and that belief is expensive. There is 9% corporate tax on profits above the threshold, VAT at 5%, and registration deadlines with fines attached. What does not exist is personal income tax on salary. Treating “no income tax” as “no tax” is how companies end up with penalties.

Do you guarantee the bank account will open?

No, and nobody can. We arrange the account through a third party, but the bank decides on its own criteria. What we do is prepare the file the way the analyst expects to receive it — which improves the odds and guarantees nothing.

My wealth is in crypto. Do you serve me?

Yes. Having wealth in digital assets is not an obstacle to opening a company here, and the origin of funds is documented the same way as any other — that documentation is a legal requirement on us, not a preference.

Can I pay your fees in crypto?

No. The Central Bank’s Payment Token Services Regulation does not allow a business in the UAE to accept virtual assets as payment for goods or services, except a licensed Dirham Payment Token. No licence cures this, and a firm that accepts it is telling you how it treats rules.

Do you provide legal advice?

No. We are documents clearing, activity 8299.85. Legal advice and tax representation require their own licence. When your case needs them, we refer you to a licensed firm and tell you we are referring you. They invoice you directly and pay us nothing.

How long does the whole process take?

The part that depends on us has a predictable rhythm. The part that depends on an authority is not ours to promise, and we do not promise it — we publish the official timeline and show the real status. A firm that guarantees a government deadline is guaranteeing something it does not control.

What happens if I miss a deadline?

It depends on the deadline, and the amount is in the official table — not in our opinion. This is exactly why the panel shows the calendar with the cost of missing each item, and why we warn at 90, 60, 30 and 7 days.

Do you serve clients in English and Spanish?

Yes. We answer in Portuguese, English, Spanish and Arabic. Portuguese and Spanish are the rare part: Dubai’s Chamber of Digital Economy ran seventeen international missions in 2025 and none in Latin America.

What is The Table?

A private, verifiable meeting: dinners and closed gatherings between verified business owners, by niche, by declared interest, or at random. Everyone at the table has already been through the verification that the law requires of us as a corporate service provider — and no ordinary networking club can say that.

Do you take commission from the partners you refer?

No. Lawyer, accountant, hotel, agency — they all invoice you directly and pay us nothing. Our compensation comes from you, and only from you. It is the line on the invoice.

Are my documents safe?

Passport and Emirates ID are personal data. They are stored encrypted, every access is logged with author, date and reason, and they are deleted when the case closes and the legal retention period ends. The security page explains exactly where they live and who can see them.

Did not find your question?

The assistant speaks several languages and knows the whole process. What it cannot answer with a source, it takes to an adviser instead of guessing.
